Accelerating Ambitious and Just Coal Phase-outs

On February 7, 2024, the CINTRAN capacity-building programme will host an online session for stakeholders interested in the just energy transition in coal regions across Europe.

The webinar will focus on the outcomes of ‘stakeholder commissions’, in which diverse stakeholders collaborate to develop policy recommendations and negotiate agreements for coal phase-out in various European countries. Additionally, the session will examine the establishment of national and international compensation policies and their beneficiaries.

Speakers include representatives from the Coal Transitions Hub, regional and local governments, and the CINTRAN team who will present the latest research on the role of stakeholder commissions and financial compensation at and beyond the European level.
