Brazil’s Just Transition: The role of the circular economy and climate change

As Brazil enters a strategic moment in addressing climate change, this webinar offers a space for dialogue on the role of the circular economy as a tool for mitigation, with a focus on innovative solutions, social inclusion, and the promotion of decent work.

A side event to the World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF), this webinar is organised by WIEGO, in collaboration with the Circular Economy Thematic Chamber of the Brazilian Forum on Climate Change (FBMC). Panelists will explore:

+ How the circular economy can contribute to mitigating climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions across different sectors of the economy;

+ The challenges and opportunities to ensure that the transition to a circular economy is just and inclusive, especially for workers in informal employment and other groups in vulnerable situations;

+ How organisations in Brazil plan to implement and/or strengthen the issue of decent and fair work for waste pickers; and

+ How circular food systems can be part of this transition, considering the need for cities to adapt to climate change.
