Second Dialogue under the United Arab Emirates Just Transition Work Programme

The Second Dialogue under the United Arab Emirates Just Transition Work Programme (JTWP) will take place in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, on October 2–3, 2024 in hybrid format. It follows the first dialogue in Bonn, Germany, which took place on June 2–3, 2024.

The dialogue will provide space for participants to discuss experiences, policies, and approaches in relation to people-centric and equitable just transition pathways, with a focus on the whole-of-society approach and the workforce.

The focus areas of the dialogue include:

+ approaches to empowering all actors and segments of society for a fair and inclusive workforce transition to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement,

+ unpacking the full range of means of implementation (finance, technology, and capacity-building) for a just transition of the workforce: exploring current approaches, opportunities and gaps, and

+ international cooperation and partnerships for people-centric and equitable just transitions.
