This report examines, through a gender lens, the socio-economic benefits of the energy transition in Central Asia. It offers recommendations to ensure women’s full participation in the renewable energy transition.
Developed in partnership with the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition, and with contributions from experts at the International Renewable Energy Agency, the report provides critical data on the potential for renewable energy to create jobs in the region.
The report emphasises the importance of including women in the workforce to achieve gender equality, tackle climate change, and advance the Sustainable Development Goals. With a focus on Central Asia, the study examines the socio-economic advantages of transitioning to renewable energy and highlights the potential job opportunities in this sector for women. It identifies the existing barriers to women’s participation, along with recommendations for overcoming these obstacles.
