Annual Political Dialogue: Initiative for Coal Regions in Transition

The European Commission, the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development of Slovenia and the Municipality of Velenje will hold the fifth Annual Political Dialogue under the Initiative for Coal Regions in Transition on July 11-12, 2024.

The Dialogue will bring together stakeholders from all EU coal, peat, lignite and oil shale regions – the coal+ regions – to assess progress achieved since the start of the Initiative in 2018, as well as to discuss common challenges and perspectives to help navigate the transition. The event will also give a voice to the leading figures who are shaping and implementing transition on the ground in coal+ regions, in EU member states and their capitals, and in Brussels.

The event will be held in Velenje, Slovenia, and will also be available online. In-person registration closes on June 18, 2024, and online registration closes on July 10, 2024.
