Statement of Commitment
IISD is committed to complying with the Accessibility Standard for Employment under The Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA), Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and other applicable local and provincial accessibility legislation. IISD policies, practices, and measures reflect principles of dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity for people with disabilities.
IISD aims to remove barriers in the workplace. If a barrier cannot be removed, IISD seeks to provide reasonable accommodations to affected employees.
Policy Availability
The IISD accessibility policy will be reviewed and updated every other year, at a minimum, or sooner if internal or external events are warranted. It will be available to everyone in a written format and provided in an accessible format when requested.

IISD will consider the preferred method of communication with any individual wishing to submit feedback and endeavour to communicate in a fashion suitable to both parties.

To assist IISD in responding to your feedback, please provide the following information in your feedback submission.
- Time and date of occurrence or of your submission
- Description of suggestion, event or compliant
- Contact information if you wish to receive a reply on the matter
- Preferred form/format of communication
- Additional comments that you may find relevant to your submission
Availability of this Information
This information will be posted on IISD’s website and available on paper at IISD’s Ontario office and Winnipeg office.
Responding to Feedback
All feedback will be treated confidentially.
If the feedback is provided in-person attempts will be made to resolve the matter immediately. If that is not possible, an employee may assist the individual in provided feedback or providing a specific, alternate contact to whom to provide feedback.
If the feedback is provided in a written or recorded format, IISD will attempt to acknowledge receipt of the feedback within five working days in a format suitable to the submitter. If no contact information is provided in the feedback it will not be possible for IISD to provide acknowledgement of receipt of the feedback.
The acknowledgement of the feedback will include any steps to remedy the issue outlined in the feedback and a timeframe for their completion.
